When you are working on Adobe Illustrator, there is a lot to stress about. Illustrator shortcuts can help you to completing the projects easily. There are some popular keyboard shortcuts that can help you a lot and usually used in every project.

  1. Selection Tool – V

You mostly need to switch to selection tool. This shortcut helps you a lot in switching to it.

  1. Undo – Ctrl + Z

Whenever you are having a mistake and want it to undo. Use this shortcut, it helps you everytime.

  1. Redo – Ctrl + shift + Z

For re-do any step you un-do by mistake.

  1. For Typography – T

Whenever you want to write something. Just click “T”.

  1. Move Selection to 10 pts – Shift + arrow direction

It will help you in moving your selected object to 10 points.

  1. Add to selection – Shift+click

If you want to select more than one object. Press Shift and click on that object.

  1. Duplicate – Alt + drag

If you want to duplicate any object. Select that object and press “Alt” and then drag in somewhere you want to paste it.

  1. Duplicate(Many) – Alt+drag > ctrl + D (as many times you want to make duplicate)

If you want to duplicate any object for multipe times. Select that object and press “Alt” and then drag in somewhere you want to paste it and then type “Ctrl + D ” as many times you want to duplicate it.

  1. Decrease/Increase Size of typeface – Ctrl + Shift + < or >

Select the text you want to increase or decrease, Press “Ctrl + Shift + < or >” as much as you want to increase/decrease it’s size.

  1. Save for web and devices – Ctrl + shift + alt + S

If you want to import your artwork for web or device you should press “Ctrl + shift + alt + S” and save your file for your purpose. Whether it’s jpeg, png or gif.

  1. Lock any object – Ctrl + 2

For locking any object, you don’t need to go to “Object” Just select the object and “Ctrl + 2”

  1. Unlock any object – Ctrl + Alt + 2

And similarly for unlocking any object, you don’t need to go to “Object” Just select the object and “Ctrl + 2”

  1. Hide any object – Ctrl + 3

For hiding any object you just have to select that object and press “Ctrl + 3”. It will hide from artwork.

  1. Unhide any object – Ctrl + Alt + 3

For unhiding any object you just have to select that object and press “Ctrl + Alt + 3

  1. Showing Ruler – Ctrl + R

It helps you to use rulers. You can align objects accordingly.
